Workplans: A Program Management Tool
Implementation: Time Frame
The two parts of implementing a program are a time frame and assignment of team members.
Now we can move from the Program Planning phase to Implementation. Implementation begins with developing a time frame for achieving your goals and assessing your progress.
How often do you need to record or report your activities to keep track of program success? Usually it is monthly or quarterly. Consider the activity and the tasks involved when selecting a realistic, practical time frame.
Questions that may help you determine a reasonable time frame include—
- How long will it take to assess progress based on data or previous experience?
- Is this appropriate given the other activities you are planning?
- Is this time frame reasonable based on your funding cycle?
After you have determined a time frame, you will need to identify which team members will carry out each item identified in your program plan.
