Installing Abstract Plus on Windows Server 2012 or newer

2

Moving Database files onto shared Drive

3

Updating configuration file to point to location moved database

4

Granting Read/Write privilege on database located folder

5

Configuring Virtual Desktop

Choices:

  2. Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Service

Step-1

Install Abstract Plus just like any other application by double clicking on Setup.exe file The default location of Abstract Plus is C:\RegPlus\AbstractPlus. If you change application installation path, then Abstract Plus won’t work until you modify configuration file for database location (i.e. MyConfig.cfg)

Step-2

By default all necessary databases are located in C:\RegPlus\AbstractPlus\MDBS folder. Move these files into network drive. For example N:\Abstract_Plus\MDBS

Step-3

Update location of moved MDBS files in MyConfig.cfg file. This file is located in C:\RegPlus\AbstractPlus Open MyConfig.cfg file in Notepad, and make the following change.

    <ConfigValues>
    <OptionName>AccessDatabasePath</OptionName>
    <OptionName>N:\Abstract_Plus\MDBS</OptionName>
  </ConfigValues>

Step-4

Make sure each Abstract Plus user’s windows profile has read-write privilege on N:\Abstract_Plus and its sub folders We recommend to create an Active Directly group called “Abstract-Plus-Users” and assign group policy to have read-write access to N:\AbstractPlus\MDBS. Then add users to “Abstract-Plus-Users”.
