Abstract Plus is programmed
using Microsoft .NET framework 4.5 using VB.net and C# language. It is using Microsoft Access database to store its data (Abstracts).
User does't need to have Microsoft Access database to use Abstract Plus. But it is recommended to have Microsoft Access database installed, since it comes handy when we need to troubleshoot. Abstract Plus is 32 bit application. There is no kown issue to install this application under 64bit Windows operating system. Abstract Plus can be installed in the following environments A) Desktop : Microsoft Windows 10 or newer B) Server : Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2 or newer. You can install Abstract Plus as a standalone software, or host this application in a Windows Server so that you can have multi-users environment. Installing Abstract Plus Standalone copy This is very straight forward approach to install. Simply install Abstract Plus using Setup.exe file. Both application and database will be installed on the same machine. It is highly recommended that user should backup their MDBs file into other media frequently to avoid data loss. Installing Abstract Plus in server makes maintance easier, since you have one copy of software and one copy of database. It will be very easy to update/upgrade. Install Abstract Plus in Windows Server 2012R2 or newer. It is highly recommend to use s highly recommend to use e Microsoft Remote Desktop Services [RDS] (AKA Remote RD) or Citrix or VMWare server to have user to access Abstract Plus. Is Abstract Plus compatible with Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012? Abstract Plus 3.5 is fully compatible for Windows 8.x, Windows 10, WIndows Server 2012 or newer. There is no known issue reported yet. |

What are the System Requirements? Abstract Plus programs work with 32- and 64-bit Microsoft® Windows® operating systems on x86-compatible processors. The minimum hardware requirements are the same as those of the Microsoft Windows operating system used. Additional system requirements include— • Microsoft operating system, Windows 10 or later, Windows Server 2012R2 • 8 GB RAM. • The available hard disk space requirement for Abstract Plus depends on the number of abstracts that will be used. A minimum of 70 MB of free hard drive space is required. Installing and Upgrading Abstract Plus Before you install or upgrade Abstract Plus, please read the following information. If someone else is responsible for maintenance of your computer, you may not be able to install software. In this case, consult the maintainer of your computer for assistance. If you are using Windows 7 or 8 or 10, Vista or higher, you must be logged on as the administrator. |

Can I install Abstract Plus under virtual desktop environment like Citrix, Microsoft Remote RD, VMWare? Yes, in fact we recommend one of these method whenever applicable/possible. Virtual environment is much easier and less time consuming when support is needed. |

Does Abstract Plus support SQL Server Database? Currently coding is in progress for Abstract Plus which uses SQL Server for back-end database. The current version of Abstract Plus uses Microsoft Access based database. 99% of user use Abstract Plus as stand-alone application. |
