emm1.0. (emm cluster A-C3) usually T1, opacity factor negative. Also, 
rarely,  T3, opacity factor negative. emm1 is the most frequent emm 
type that we encounter from invasive and noninvasive infections in the 
U.S. Note that emm1 is related to emm1-2, emm1-4, and st1969 (related
but distinct emm types). CDC reference strain= SS745 (T1, OF-)=
RCL T1/119/8 obtained in 1967.
