Data for 2000 State Health Profiles The 2000 State Health Profiles series comprises 51 books--one for each state and the District of Columbia. Updated annually since 1987, this series describes the health status of the United States on a state-by-state basis using selected "health status indicators" that are also updated each year. The series also highlights prevention and control efforts and other programs aimed at specific health conditions, as well as budget information and a brief description of each state’s partnership activities with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). New this year is a section on bioterrorism and focal areas of funding for each state. The files listed below comprise the data that are released in the State Health Profile annual reports. Data for each State, including the District of Columbia are provided in Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet files.
