Thanks – I downloaded the files.  I will let you know if I need any help.

For your question, we can discuss during our meeting.  Do either of you have any conflicts during the meeting time?  You can tag team, if need be.

Subject: RE: PIJ Test Files

Typically, registries want to keep the latest information (File 2) but retain the earliest Date Case Report Received if a central registry is monitoring timeliness from reporting facilities. I did not modify the dates for this test for PIJ, but please let me know if you think they should be updated. Date Case Report Received is usually populated when the file is processed in Prep Plus and that carries into CRS Plus.

Since PIJ will not be using Prep and CRS Plus, then this may need to be an alteration for the PIJ version of Abstract Plus. Date Case Report Received is not typically in the Abstract Plus display. Is this something they will be monitoring or would be helpful for updates that would need to be in the Abstract Plus display for PIJ?

Question—do we want them to keep the EARLIEST or the LATEST facility at which the patient was see in the consolidated abstract?  Or maybe the latest or earliest on received by the CCR?  Or is it up to them?

Joe and Scott,

The PIJ Test Files are located at: \\cdc.gov\project\CCHP_NCCD_DCPC_HIRSX\Developers Notebook\Michelle Esterly\PIJ Test Files

The files contain ten test cases. File 2 is basically an exact copy of File 1 with the following changes for each record (including some variety to train PIJ on several scenarios):

Last Name

Modifications in Test File 2

Ackerman

Different facility - changed Reporting Hospital, Middle Name (Initial), first digit of SSN, Medical Record Number

Abner

Same facility; Changed RxSumSurgPrimSite code (updated information from same facility)

Atkins

Same facility; Updated treatment fields to add surgery information

Asher

Exact Duplicate

Abel

Same facility; Changed Histology ICD-O-3 and Grade

Ammons

Same facility; Changed Laterality only

Abernathy

Same facility; Changed Grade only

Aguiar

Different facility – changed Reporting Hospital, Grade, Medical Record Number, and added Surgery information

Aranda

Exact Duplicate

Augustine

Different facility – changed Reporting Hospital, Medical Record Number

Please let me know if you need anything else for the training.
